3ds max 2011 Hot fix 4 error

After installing 3D max 2011 into my computer everything was working fine until I applied the HOTfix 4. My 4 viewports turned black, the interface turned grey, and it is not loading. I cannot see anything. Not even if I click on viewports to change options. The mesh drop down activated for modeling and nothing can be seen. My operating system is Microsoft windows 7. My processor is Quad core and other hardware is up to date for 3D max work. I am thinking that maybe my di-o-matic has something to do with this because it asked me to reset to default. Even both yes and no options have no positive result for the problem. I can’t even work properly. Please suggest to me some kind of solution. I have already tried windows updates and many other settings.

The upgrade patch cannot be installed by the Windows Installer service because the program to be upgraded may be missing. or the upgrade patch may update a different version of the program. Verify that the program to be upgraded exists on your computer arid that you have the correct upgrade patch.

Maybe if you didn’t apply the hotfix 4 your application will still be working fine. Try restoring the program by uninstalling the hotfix. If there is no way to remove the hotfix or the patch because it doesn’t have any uninstall file or option in it, you probably need to reinstall your program again. Uninstall the application then restart your machine. After booting the system check your computer for any possible errors. Use a disk utility application to check the system. Then install the program again. This will fix any corrupted files in the installation and restores the settings back to default. Try it after this.

This should work now since it doesn’t have any more patch in it. If you really need to patch and upgrade the application, you should upgrade the program first before applying the appropriate patch. Be sure to download and install the right version of the patch for your program’s version.
