I am trying to install A4 Tech Webcam. Once I begin to install the software, I get a message that indicates a mistake that this can be not passed the Windows emblem testing.

It recommends me to prevent the installation and contact the software vendor. My question is if I can use this software securely?

Software Installation Error:

"The software you are installing has not passed Windows Logo testing to verify its compatibility with Windows XP."

Continuing your installation of this software may impair or destabilize the correct operation of your system either immediately or in the future. Microsoft strongly recommends that you stop this installation now and contact the software vendor for software that has passed Windows Logo testing.

To resolve that issue, you will need to use the steps below:

  1. First of all you will need to quit all Windows programs.
  2. And then you will click Start, and then click Control Panel.
  3. Thereafter you will click Add or Remove Programs.
  4. And then click on Change or Remove Programs.
  5. Locate the Currently installed programs list, and there click on Windows XP Hotfix – KB823559, and then click the Remove button.
  6. After the security patch has been removed, you will need to restart your computer.

See if that helps fix the problem successfully.

Hi Shiela

You can just install the drivers straight away by ignoring the error or message which arrives during the installation. If this does not help then disconnect from the internet if you are using and try again. This would help you. Incase if it does not then try to download the latest drivers from internet and reinstall after you have uninstall the earlier ones.

You can get these drivers from the website of the particular webcam you have bought. Just log on to the website of the particular webcam and download the drivers from there. After downloading the drivers just install them and restart your system. This will surely help you and you will be able to use your webcam.

thank you
