About My Samsung DVD Writer
Good Day,
Please do the following procedures to isolate your problem: First, check the power cable and data cable if properly connected to the DVD writer, use a different DVD writer, and since your Samsung DVD writer is new you may return it and avail product warranty to replaced the DVD writer.

About My Samsung DVD Writer
Shutdown your computer and unplug it from the power outlet. Then open the CPU case. Check the writings of your DVD drive inside your CPU. Make sure that its ribbon cable is properly connected on the DVD drive’s port.
Be sure that the cable fits very well on the pins of the drive. You should also check the drive’s supply connector.
Make sure that it is plugged securely on the supply port.
You should also check the jumper settings of the DVD drive. The DVD drive’s jumper setting should be set to Primary Master. Read the marks at the back of the drive carefully if it is set on the right pins.
