Hi there,

I use FileMaker Pro to work on an inventory file to revise a specific record.  An error message appears. The screen shot of the message is posted here for your reference.

Since I am the only person who use this application and this file.  I do not understand why the access privileges has been tampered with or damaged.

The access privileges in this file have been Damaged or possibly tamper with. Please contact FileMaker Technical Support if the problem cannot be resolved.

Hi this kind of error occurred during:

1. The file was opened frequently so that file damaged.

2. The file was not closed properly.

3. Media failure (e.g. on hard disk there is bad sectors) so that Operating System cannot read some parts.

The reason for media failure could be an external power interruption and the computer was shut down unexpectedly.

To troubleshooting the error, please visit the website of http://www.filemaker.com/help/11/fmp/html/recover.39.7.html.

Hope this could help.

This problem may occur due to these reasons-

  • Some system files related to Filemaker may have been damaged.
  • You may have closed the Filemaker inappropriately.
  • The file could not be read from the source due to bad sectors in the HD.

If it's a problem with the software then start  troubleshooting & find out the most probable reason.

Hopefully you will also find out a solution.

This error message appears because of many reasons, e.g. drive failures, crash, power failure etc.

The only solution is to repair the damaged file either by FMDiff (See http://fmdiff.com/repairs.php) or by FMI (go to website of FileMaker Pro for conditions).

The cost is low and the file could be repaired and returned within one day in most cases.
