Is acer really abandoning Windows

I really don't know how Acer could leave windows . Is Linux really a decent alternative. I know Google makes hardware to.

Is acer really abandoning Windows

Hello Steven,

The whole thing of Acer wanting to abandon windows is due to the release of the Surface family of the windows tablets. Acer want Microsoft  to reconsider their competition on making this tablet, and if Microsoft does not do that Acer has threatened to look for other alternatives.

Acer claims that the surface PC will create a huge negative impact for the ecosystem, and it also claims that other brands may take a negative reaction. Acer's president is not happy that Microsoft is trying to do hardware business. It raises questions whether they should rely on Microsoft or just go ahead and look for other alternatives.
