That error happens because the activation code that was included in your package was the wrong activation code for your product. If you purchased Kaspersky Internet Security, the activation code included was probably for Kaspersky Antivirus, Kaspersky Total Security, or others. The full error reads “Activation code is not suitable for this application” and this happens after installing the application when you are about to activate the product.

With Kaspersky, activation codes are unique for every Kaspersky Lab product. Because of this, you cannot activate a Kaspersky Lab product using the activation code for another Kaspersky product. To fix the problem, check that the activation code you enter matches to the Kaspersky product you bought, Kaspersky Internet Security. In the activation window, you can find the name of the product to which the activation code corresponds.

In the line “Corresponding application” in the activation window, it indicates the Kaspersky product to which the activation code you entered corresponds to. Compare the name of the product indicated in the “Corresponding application” to the name in the upper left corner of the window. If the names are different, uninstall the product and install the product that matches to the activation code.

Download the free version of Revo Uninstaller and install it. Once installed, start Revo Uninstaller then select your Kaspersky product among the applications and click “Uninstall”. Follow the normal uninstall process. When you are prompted to restart the computer, click to restart later. When uninstall is complete, click “Scan” to scan your computer for any leftover files and delete everything it finds.

This removes everything the program created on your computer. When it is finished, close Revo Uninstaller then restart the computer. After booting, go to Kaspersky Downloads and download the product that corresponds to your activation code.
