I want to add a PCIe usb 3.0 adaptor card, on the Asus P5Q pro motherboard with an intel core 2 duo E8500 LGA775, 3.16 ghz cpu will this work?

Yes this work .This motherboard supports the latest PCIs 3.0 devices speed and bandwidth which enhances system performance.

Yes this motherboard is compatible for intel core 2 duo E8500 LGA775, 3.16 ghz cpu.this is work.

Hi

If you want to add PCI express 3.0 adapter card in to your system  which is Asus P5Q  pro Motherboard as this Motherboard has 2 express slot in it  you can add more than just one adapter in it for multiple purposes. So your  system will support it go get it .

Add USB 3.0 to Asus P5Q Pro mother board.

 

Of course, it will work. As long as the motherboard has an available PCI Express slots for your USB 3.0 PCI Express card. After installing or connecting the PCI Express card on any of the available PCI Express slots, you just need to install the card’s software or driver to make it work on your operating system. It will still be unusable until you install the proper drivers for the expansion card.

Without it, your system will not be able to recognize and use the new USB 3.0 adapter you attached. And as a reminder, cards that are PCI Express will not fit the standard or the original PCI version slot. They are of different architectures.
