Hello jody,
After a long search I got this answer and this is really interesting that we can change the USB timeout. Although most of the time this is not necessary. But I am really very eager to know that what the cause to change this time for you is.
This time settings can be configured in two ways, first by the file named “FTDIBUS.INF”, open that file using notepad and you will get a place where the term “USBTimeout” is present, at the end of that line you can change the time. By default the time is 5 second or 5000 ms
Also you can do it by using the registry. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetEnumUSB{Device VID, PID and interface}{Serial number}DeviceParametersUSBTimeout
Now set the time and the work is done.
Thank you,
