I was unable to open my Adobe Reader. It is showing “Not a supported file type” and all my desktop icons were changed into Adobe symbol such as IE, Amazon and Firefox. I   tried restarting but it still the same. I could not even download anything. What is the reason for this? I even tried repairing Adobe installation on Adobe website but nothing happens. Please help.

Hello Ricky,

To resolve that issue, do the following;

  • Click the Start button, and then 'Control Panel'.
  • After that click 'Default Programs', and then click 'Associate a file type or protocol with a program'.
  • In the list that appears, you will need to locate '.acsm', click on it to highlight it, and then click 'Change program'.
  • After that, choose 'Adobe Digital Editions' and then click 'OK'.
  • Repeat steps 4-5 for the '.epub' extension as well.

Regards,

Carl
