Advantage of having Airtime on Facebook

Airtime was launched on Facebook just this week. This offers a way to match people in video chats at random. What are the advantages and disadvantages of having this feature in Facebook? Would it eventually make Facebook more of a matchmaking social website?

Advantage of having Airtime on Facebook

Airtime is a platform of live video chatting, it is connected to old and new friends. Not everyone is allowed to use the video platform it is open for 13 years old above with active account. This is an improvement of the FaceBook account from txt chat to video chat.  Since, you meet people face to face through video chatting. It is already a social networking, so it will become  a matchmaking site eventually, because through airtime you will be paired with someone online of course, while chatting to that person you will see his/her interest and friends that is common to you.

You will meet new and old friends that may become a lasting friend or a passing friend. This an advantage to families and friends that are far from each other because of work and opportunities. At least the users personal information is protected. It is protected by policy and restrictions. And it is on the users decision whether to add or remove friends. Privacy is still important for all account users.

Advantage of having Airtime on Facebook

Airtime was successfully launched in New York last June 5 and now it can be found on FaceBook. Airtime is created by Napster founders and is a video chat service that allows a user to share videos with his friends.

 

This is why it perfectly fit with FaceBook. Airtime’s motto is, create shared experiences with people you know, and people you want to know. One of the noted advantages of having this application to FaceBook comes from Sean Parker himself. Parker is one of the founders of Napster and Airtime. He explained that because FaceBook and Airtime are no longer separate entities, if you’re a member of FaceBook, you are an Airtime user as well.

 

There will be no more excuses and alibis not to see their friends, families, loved ones or even strangers. Everyone is connected with the same interests.

 

He also emphasized that Airtime’s core principle is safety. All users are free to reveal their identity or not. With advantages come disadvantages. With Airtime, a user can risk his or her own privacy, indecency can also happen when users start chatting with people they don’t know.

Advantage of having Airtime on Facebook

Hello Tammy,

The advantage of this airtime is the we can make friends to people that we don't know. We can connect other people from other side of the world and for those who are fond of making chats this is  a great advantage which they will just use there FaceBook accounts and choose any chat rooms they prefer. I think the disadvantage on this is that our privacy will be at stake and fraud will be rampant.
