The main advantage is that Windows 7 is faster than its predecessors with facilities to download good quality themes and backgrounds from the Microsoft website. With support for Virtual Hard Disks Windows 7 supports enhanced performance of multi core processors with good graphics card support. Advantages and disadvantages of windows 7
Before taking the step on upgrading your operating system to Microsoft Windows 7, check the specifications first and make sure your computer meets the requirements.
To install Microsoft Windows 7, your machine should have at least 1 GHz or faster 32-bit or 64-bit processor, 1 GB RAM for 32-bit and 2 GB for 64-bit, 16 GB free space for 32-bit and 20 GB free space for 64-bit, and Microsoft DirectX 9-compatible video card with WDDM 1.0 driver or higher.
Dubbed as “Vienna” and formerly as “Blackcomb,” Windows 7 is an operating system developed by Microsoft for personal computers and part of the Windows NT series of operating systems. It was released to manufacturing on July 22, 2009 and became available to the public on October 22, 2009 which is less than three years after Windows Vista was released.
Its server counterpart, Windows Server 2008 R2, was also released at the same time. Microsoft Windows 7 was basically intended as an incremental upgrade to the operating system and also to address the poor critical reception on Windows Vista. Windows 7 has 13 new sound schemes:
- Afternoon
- Calligraphy
- Characters

- Delta
- Festival
- Garden
- Heritage
- Landscape
- Quirky
- Raga
