Advice on shell script grep credit card data?

Hi Experts,

I want to seek advice on shell script grep credit card data. I want to know any scripting language like JavaScript to write code to achieve this. I tried the JavaScript but code did not work. Does JavaScript machine dependent? I am having Linux Ubuntu operating system. Thanks.

Advice on shell script grep credit card data?

 

Hi,

If you are using a Linux system. You can use this Perl scripting for doing a grep of credit card number. Perl is a scripting language which comes inbuilt with almost all the Linux systems. This language has almost all the support in getting any  kind of data. Including the database support also.

This programming language supports even for getting data from websites also. So, Better choose Perl scripting rather going for shell scripting. The syntax is quite similar to shell scripting but this is little more object oriented. Make sure you use Perl in a proper manner. Please let me know if you need any information on this.
