After update to iOS 5, iPhone 3GS became slow

Hi,

My iPhone 3GS is slow after updating to iOS 5. Graphic and starting apps are slow. Start time takes 10-15 seconds on some apps. Restarting the iPhone did not help. Can this be fixed as it seems as though the processor is not the same as the new 4S.

Please advice.

Hi Jeff,

I will clear your concern over Iphone 3GS. The Iphone 3GS is an old phone with only 600 MHz processor and 256 MB RAM. The iOS 5 is a newer OS. It is officially supported for your phone, but it uses a lot of resource. That's why your phone is slow and apps are taking longer to start.

Hi Jeff,

Although iPhone 3gs is an old model since we already have the iPhone 5 which was recently released, a lot of people still find iPhone 3gs useful especially when you have it with iOS 5 already. What causes it to slow down is the switching on 6-10 applications in a day. Try to get rid of other applications which are not very useful for you such as siri and other gaming apps because some of these apps have an exclusive features which makes it run well in newer version.
