Alternative to itunes in order to transfer songs to the ipad

I just purchased the new iPad air. I am in the process of downloading iTunes in order to sync my music library to the tablet but so far the download has failed from the website server. Is there any other sites that I can use to download iTunes? Also is there any other software that can be used to sync content on the iPad. I heard that it is locked for usage to iTunes, is that true?

 There exist some free and reliable cloud services, that will let you upload your music collection to play on your iPad, on or offline. One of them is Google Play music, which allows you to store up to 20 000 songs. Others that you can try and use are Amazon Cloud Player and Dropbox. Enjoy!

Hello,

 

If your media is tied to iTunes, you must use the associated applications that are required by the service. Attempts to use other software will cause many problems or simply fail. Ensure that your devices are properly registered. Ensure that your ID is associated with the devices you are using. You cannot simply acquire devices without doing this. Ensure that your devices are all updated. Troubleshoot your network to ensure that it is functioning properly. If your media library is not tied to iTunes specifically, it can be managed with scores of different options. I suggest placing your media library in personal storage and then networking with that storage and all of your devices.
