I need help on my Acer wireless keyboard. When attempting to type my password, it doesn't work until I restart my computer. After that, it will work flawlessly. My Acer PC and my wireless keyboard was bought 3 months ago and so they are still new. It runs with Windows 8.1. And now, the problem always persist and I don't know how to get rid of it. It bothers me as I said, this PC is new. Any ideas?

Make sure your wireless keyboard is synced correctly:
-
Plug the USB receiver into your computer
-
Press the Connect button on the receiver (the button should blink)
-
Press the Connect button on the keyboard (on the bottom of the keyboard) to connect wirelessly
-
Again press the Connect button on the receiver (the button should blink again)
Below are some troubleshooting steps to try:
-
Make sure the keyboard isn’t placed on a metallic surface
-
Make sure the receiver is 8-inches from all other electrical devices
-
Make sure you have the correct drivers installed.
-
Sometimes, if 2 drivers are installed for your accessories, one will prevail over the other, and might cause that the correct driver isn’t working
Windows 8 and 8.1 have a function called Fast Startup which is also called hybrid boot or hybrid shutdown. This helps your PC start up faster after it’s been shut down. When it gets booted up again, it only uses information saved in the system information to resume your PC instead of having it boot up fully. You can turn this function off:
-
Open and click the following: Control Panel>Power Options
-
Click on “Choose what the power button does”
-
Click “Change settings that are currently unavailable”
-
Under “Shutdown Settings”, unclick the “Turn on Fast Startup” checkbox
-
Click “Save”
-
Close the power option window
-
Restart PC
