Hi,

I believe while calculating the size folder by folder you must have omitted the hidden files and folder. I guess this might have created the doubts.

Alternatively, it is possible you might have allocated virtual memory from your D drive which might have used up the space.

Go to Folder and search options, select Folder and select the option "Show hidden files and folders". You will then see all the hidden files and folders. Then you might check the size of each folder, and this time it should be the same as the one seen in the properties of D drive.

Also, if you see a file by the name pagefile.sys, that means page file is enabled on your computer.

Hope this helps!

This is not a virus issue but a common issue for everyone.

The missing disk space are those which are hidden files such as index files and more.

If you want to know the exact disk usage on your computer, run the WinDirStat.

This is a cleanup tool for your Windows PC. You can see the disk, files and sizes of each on a treelist.

It analyzes the disk usageof your computer.
