How did Amazon plan to release a tablet for just $99. I wonder how this Fire HD 6 being the company's smallest slate priced at very cheap price by Amazon. With such a long battery life, a sharp screen and other unique software features, is the price fixed at very low than the market expected price?
Is Amazon Fire HD 6 just $99 only?
The Amazon Fire HD 6 tablet doesn’t support GSM voice communication, MMS, and also SMS. This is actually a very new product from Amazon announced last September 2014 and released on October 2014. Since it is not a GSM device, it doesn’t support any types of networks. It measures 169 x 103 x 10.7 millimeters and weighs 290 grams.
It has an IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display with 16M colors at 800 x 1280 pixels screen resolution. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass with Fire OS 4 Sangria UI and supports multi-touch. It runs on 1 GB RAM and is available in capacities 8 and 16 GBs.
The primary camera supports 2 megapixels at 1600 x 1200 pixels resolution and can record video in 1080p. It has a secondary camera with VGA support. It runs on Android 4.4 KitKat powered by Dual Core 1.5 GHz & Dual Core 1.2 GHz processors. Though it can’t connect to any cellular networks, it can connect to a Wi-Fi connection that supports Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n.
Its built-in browser supports HTML5. It runs on a non-removable Li-Ion battery with talk time up to 8 hours. It also supports microUSB 2.0.
