Error message that pops-up for the user when trying to open the PDF documents using Acrobat is known as Acrobat error 14. The full error message states: ‘There was an error opening this document. There was a problem reading this document (14).’ The corrupted software cache is the reason behind the occurrence of the error code.

The methods to fix the issue are as follows:

Method 1: Update the application

The outdated software becomes the cause behind the error. So, to fix this issue, the user needs to update the application.

Open the Acrobat Reader and click on Help >> Check for updates. It will open an updater window from where the user can update the software.

Method 2: Open the PDF with another software

Download and install another PDF opener software, then try to open the document using another software.
