There are a lot of improvements that are delivered by Android 4.0. In this order I can tell you some of them like, Improved Stability of the Operating System, new Home Screen, and of course you can customized you home screen how you prefer, you can resize your widgets, the lock screen has also changed, you can respond at your incoming calls faster than before, text input and spell-checking has improved, the voice input engine is more powerful, you have visual voicemail and many more. But in my opinion is that you should wait until summer, when Google will release Android 5, which will probably be better than 4.
Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich Support
Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich is a mobile operating system for tablets and phones that gives you a sophisticated and unified user interface (UI). The operating system is designed and constructed based on the things that people love about Android like the rich notifications, easy multitasking, resizable widgets, deep interactivity, and customizable home screens. It allows common actions to be more visible.
It allows users to navigate with easy, intuitive gestures. Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich has a new typeface optimized for high-resolution screens that delivers an elegant, modern feel to the user interface (UI) and enhances readability. The virtual buttons located in the System Bar allows users to navigate immediately to Home, Back, and Recent Apps. Both the virtual buttons and System Bar are available across all applications but apps can dim it for full-screen viewing.
The Action Bar located at the top of the screen and sometimes at the bottom can be used to access every application’s contextual options. Multitasking is the main strength of the Android operating system and it is made more visual and easier on Android 4.0. The Recent Apps button allows users to immediately switch from one task to another using the list found in the System Bar.
