Just got a new PC, and it has the free McAfee trial, but the last few days I keep getting "McAfee Security Center: Your computer is not protected" and tells me to click the link, and to resend an activation email which NEVER arrives. Then it says "activation failed" after saying it was accepted. :flame:
I seem to remember the kid at the computer store saying something about Vista & McAfee not being compatible? Anyone have any clue about this? I don't have the $ to run out & get Norton or anything right away.
ANTIVIRUS : PROBLEM WITH ACTIVATING MCAFEE
Hello,
The antivirus has two versions a trial version and a registered version.
In register version you get full authentication and it automatically updates from internet. For updating internet is required on
your computer.
In trial version you get limited protection from viruses for a limited period. As you have mentioned that it is a trail version, the protection period guaranteed by the trial version has been expired, so please either install a registered one or uninstall the old trial version and install a new trial version. Vista and McAfee are compatible with each other, only newer versions of this Antivirus are required for Vista.
Regards,
Robert.

ANTIVIRUS : PROBLEM WITH ACTIVATING MCAFEE
Hello,
You said that your antivirus is a free trial version. So it might have been expired. If you use free products then you have to compromise.
But if you don't want to buy a registered Antivirus, then you can download another free version from Internet. Which will also expire after some time. You should know that these free trial versions only offer limited security. So it's better you buy a registered antivirus to protect your PC.

ANTIVIRUS : PROBLEM WITH ACTIVATING MCAFEE
Hi,
I think your free trial McAfee is expired. You must buy a license so that it can give your laptop full protection.
Thanks.

At the moment, the latest McAfee antivirus no longer supports Windows Vista and earlier but if your operating system comes pre-installed with McAfee antivirus, it means the version installed on your computer supports Windows Vista the time you buy it. If you keep getting the message “your computer is not protected” then that means your McAfee antivirus has expired.
If the antivirus installed is a trial version, it means the trial period has expired and you need to buy it to continue using it. With McAfee, I don’t think they offer a free version of the antivirus unlike with Malwarebytes and Avast antivirus which offer free antivirus programs. If you wish to continue using McAfee, you can purchase the latest McAfee Antivirus.
The latest version supports Windows 7, Windows 8.x, and Windows 10 both 32-bit and 64-bit. If you want to try a free antivirus, try Avast Free Antivirus. The latest supports Windows XP Service Pack 3, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8.x, and Windows 10.
