Hello there,

If it is for your personnel use then I would recommend Avast Home Edition. This is free and the only difference it has with Avast Pro is it lacks online shopping security. Avast internet security has full protection over the internet including firewall and many other protections. All use the same antivirus engine so all will have the same efficiency in detecting viruses. Its performance match many other top anti-virus like Norton and Kaspersky.

It also has a pleasing user friendly interface and it includes a useful feature. Which have it Boot time scanned. This scans the whole hard drive before anything boots into memory so has a chance to detect the most stubborn virus.

The following Anti virus that I could suggest you are supported and compatible with the Windows 7:

1. The Kaspersky Anti Virus 2011

They say it's the best Anti virus since 2011 because it detected and remove every single virus that no other software can do. It's easy to install and even the beginners can download this. And also it only uses a small capacity of RAM's and CPU's memory. And it's compatible with the OS you are using.

2. Bitdefender 2012

The scanning time for Bitdefender is not that far from the Anti Virus 2011. (I the Antivirus scanned for just 241 secs Bitdefender has a 254 secs scan speed). Comparing the memory usage, If Anti Virus 2011 only needed 54 Mb, Bitdefender needs 89 Mb.
