An any to icon software for my files.

Hi TechyV community!

I have images that I want to change it into icons. Also I have been bored with such old icons that windows provided. So may I ask you, is there a software that can make any to icon? If yes, what is it? Where can I download it? I really need it for my customized folder and files.  Thank you very much.

An any to icon software for my files.

Hello,

All variants of Windows (XP, Vista, 7, 8, etc) allow you to change folder icons if you are bored by seeing a certain icon too many times. Suppose you have a folder named "Portfolio Studies". You can right click on it and go to the Customize tab. Then toward the bottom if you click on the Change Icon button then the second window pops up whence you can select any icon you want from a large collection. I am attaching a picture. Please have a look at the window on the left and then the right.

If you still want to create your own icons, one of the best freeware programs would be Greenfish Icon Editor Pro which could help you create, edit, open, and save icon files.

However, I would like to draw your attention to the warning message that is visible on the left window in the image below. It means to say that if you change the folder icon of a certain folder from "default" to something else then you will no longer see preview contents of that folder. Please keep that in mind.
