Hello,
I was trying to save a Notepad file when I got this error message.
I then made sure that the path and file names were correct.
I tried searching the internet but couldn’t find an appropriate solution.
Anyone who could provide simple steps to resolve the problem?
Notepad
Cannot create the C:Documents and SettingwillroDesktoplpt1 file.
Make sure that the path and filename are correct.
Any solution for error when saving a Notepad file?
Yes this message occurs often when you are not on your own personal computer. If the PATH is correct, then it must be security problems.
First report which Operating system you are using, assuming you are on a WIN XP machine, the necessary step is whether you are having a NTFS partition or a FAT partition, in case of NTFS, the security question arise.
Let me know whether your user is willro or not?
If not, then you may not have permissions accessing the desktop of another user, If it is your own user, the open the folder, then right-click to properties of the folder, you get a Tab, Security, there you need change.
You click add, the Find Now and then click your own username and in the list provided and press OK. Again OK.
This gets your username on the screen.
Now click your own username and Provide access rights to the user.
Use FULL for all rights.
Try the above with all the folders right from the root directory till the Desktop.
You will surely save if the PATH is correct.
