My Blackberry Desktop Manager has been working until I have upgraded to SP3.

Now I am getting "BlackBerry Desktop Manager has encountered a problem and needs to close".

Is there really a problem in blackberry software for PC win SP3?

Hi,

There shouldn't be any problem when upgrading to WXP SP3, but to fix this i suggest uninstalling blackberry desktop manager by going to Control Panel add remove programs then find the Blackberry Desktop Manager and uninstall it.

Then after un-installation download Ccleaner and clean your computer for temporary files & registry fixes.

This cleans the system and removes unwanted files so that your system will run smooth again.

Download the latest update for the Blackberry Desktop Manager here https://us.blackberry.com/software/desktop and install the software update.

This should fix the problem

Thank you

Are you receiving this error while syncing your device using your BB Desktop Manager?

Try closing the Desktop Manager and then launch the Microsoft Windows Explorer and remove the "Research In Motion" in the folder C:Documents and Settings<username>Application Data.

This will remove all the synchronization settings. The Research in Motion will be re-created once you restart your Desktop Manager.

And then open the Desktop Manager again and then select Synchronize. Ensure that the Synchronize Organizer Data is checked on the Synchronize tab.

Choose the Configuration tab and then click on Configure Sync. Recreate the entire Sync settings and then click OK to save it.

And then try synchronizing again.

You are probably using a much older version of the BlackBerry Desktop Software that is not compatible with Windows XP Service Pack 3 though this is not possible or maybe the update to the operating system caused a problem with the installation particularly the registry. In this case, uninstall the existing version and install the latest version.

The BlackBerry software is in two versions: the BlackBerry Desktop Software and the BlackBerry Link. If you have a BlackBerry Smartphone that runs on BlackBerry 7.1 OS or earlier, you need to download the BlackBerry Desktop Software. It supports Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7. Windows 8.x and Windows 10 are not supported. For Mac users, you can download the BlackBerry Desktop Software for Mac.

If your BlackBerry Smartphone runs on BlackBerry 10 OS, you need to download the BlackBerry Link. It supports Windows XP Service Pack 3, Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8.x. Windows 10 is not supported. It requires Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 so make sure to install it first.
