Nathan Algren,
Hello,
Microsoft word 2012 is a fake application which passed approval from Apple store and remained for some time in it. Probably this might be because the app entered with the name of one of the top-most developers, Microsoft. Apple, in-spite of self-boasting as the most protected against the malwares and viruses approved the fake apps and allowed it to stay for some time in the store. This might be happened since proper checks are not done against the trademarks, copyrights, proprietary content, guidelines, etc. of other developers. The guidelines and the content given for the apps is not at all matching with that of Microsoft, but still passed the approval. Apart from this, during past 2 years Apple's iOS is also attacked by malware which shows the lenience of Apple now a day.

The problem with a fake Microsoft Word 2012 happened very recently. Actually it was only last year that this thing happened. An iOS app bearing the name Microsoft Word 2012 was accepted and made available in the Apple app store but it didn’t stay long because it was later removed by Apple. Though the application didn’t stay long in the store it still raised questions to customers.
You get to think how Apple processes app request for developers who want to sell their programs. If you’ll check the description in the application, you won’t have any doubt that it’s a fake because it looks like any other app that describes some steps and somewhat guides the users.
But one thing is obvious about the posting. The icon displayed on the left side looks very different from the one used by Microsoft Word. And also the listed developer of the application which is shown just beneath the name of the app belongs to Super Racing Real Games instead of Microsoft. This part already is very suspicious.
If a user sees this, the logo looks different and the listed developer is not Microsoft, I don’t know if you’ll still buy it considering that it is expensive just for an app.
