Hi Guys,
I was trying to import files into excel when I got this error message (see image) :
Fire Assay Calculator
The file could not be accessed.
Try one of the following:
-
Make sure the specified folder exists.
-
Make sure the folder that contains the file is not read-only.
-
Make sure the file name does not contain any of the following characters: <>?[ ] : Standards.xls or *
-
Make sure the file/path name doesn't contain more than 218 characters.
Any suggestions?

Application cannot access files in folder
Dear Sankara,
The problem appears to be with the file that you are trying to import. Modify your file using the suggestions in the error message.
If that does not work, you could try reinstalling Excel, but make sure that you have completely deleted your existing installation first (else the problem could remain).
All the best.

Hello Dear,
Thanks for your sharing.
This error becomes when something wrong happens, as written on the error.
Make sure that the file you are opening is on the exact location which you have typed. Or make sure that you have typed correct location.
You should also check that your file name does not contain any unsupported symbol or chart.
To avoid this error kindly note this step.
Do not write address of file, click on open or press CTRL+O and browse for file.
I hope you will satisfy.
Thanks
