Hey there,

Either of the two reasons vis corrupt Photoshop application or the conflict with peer applications can cause this sort of error. Look for the following

1. Antivirus can be one of the cause. If it is so, permit this application into it.

2. Perform the clean boot in your operating system. This link will help you through the steps involved in ‘clean start’ process.

3. Lastly, try uninstalling the application and re-installing it to fix the errors caused due to missing/corrupted components.

Hope this helps!

If you are using Adobe Photoshop CC 2017 and it crashes on startup, check the log file to see what program is causing the crash. To check the log file, press the Windows key + R to bring up the Run dialog then type without quotes “eventvwr” then hit Enter. This launches the Event Viewer. In the Event Viewer, expand “Windows Logs” then select or click “Application.”

Scroll down and locate an Application Error that involves Photoshop. When you found one, double-click it to see the details. In “General” pane, look for the “Faulting Module Name.” If the Faulting Module Name is “LavasoftTcpService64.dll,” “libcef.dll,” or something similar, it means Lavasoft is causing the crash. To fix the problem, try resetting Winsock.

To do this, press the Windows key + R to bring up the Run dialog then type without quotes “cmd” then hit Enter. In the command prompt window, type without quotes “netsh Winsock reset” then hit Enter. Exit the command prompt then restart the computer. Try starting Photoshop CC again then see if it works.

Another way is to uninstall any application related to Lavasoft like ManyCam and Adaware Antivirus. You may also try to delete the “LavasoftTcpService64.dll” file. If the Faulting Module Name is pointing to “LavasoftTcpService64.dll,” open Windows Explorer then navigate to the location of the file mentioned in the Event Viewer and then delete the “LavasoftTcpService64.dll” file. Start Photoshop again then see if it works.
