Aqualizer music equalizer open source not compatible with sound card

I recently installed the 32 bands Aqualizer music equalizer open source but I'm having an error of "Aqualizer not compatible with sound card".  I tried updating my sound card driver but still the same results.  Can someone help?  I'm on a Windows Vista 64 bit system.

Eckel, 

Make sure that the software you installed (32 bit band Equalizer) on your computer is genuine. Some of these programs contain file which need to be manipulated, these files at times sabotage the proper functioning of the rest of the computer system. Therefore I advise you to verify that  the software you installed is genuine (Coming from the real manufacturer). If that fails try to reinstall your operating system (Windows) and make a fresh installation of all the other software.
