Are hotel wi-fi hotspots monitored?

I have a highly confidential job so I wouldn't want any information leak to anyone. 

But due to my busy schedule, I tend to connect to WiFi hotspots in hotels when necessary. Are hotel WiFi hotspots monitored?

Are hotel wi-fi hotspots monitored?

That depends on the nature of the Hotel and the Policy that they have implemented in their network.

Mostly huge networks are regularly real time monitored.

But if you are talking about some medium or small sized network with a single AP (Access Point), then there is a very less chance of being monitored.

Hi,

It is hard to tell, as every hotel has their own policy of the hotspots. Recently, for security concerns many have started monitoring their hotspots. However, with surety nothing can be said. It is best to ask the hotel staff in regard to this, they are the best who can guide you with this.

I would suggest you to not to do highly confidential work on a public network.

This opens up your work to vulnerabilities.

Always use a private network for such purpose.
