Hello,
Does anyone have experience with AutoCAD Mechanical 2010? I've been having the same problem with the drawing export.

It seems to be disabled because every time I tried to export I got the same error message:
AutoCAD

Unhandled exception has occurred in a component in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue.
eWasOpenForWrite.

If you have a solution that could help please post a comment, It will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

The Autodesk discussion groups recommend the following three solutions. They have worked for some people and not others:

  1. Repair the drawing using the 'recoverall' command
  2. Unbind 'Xref' blocks and purge the drawing
  3. Set the auto repair option to no and then use the audit command

If those do not work for you, here are some solutions that should serve as a work around for this problem.

  1. Use Save As to save the drawing in the AutoCAD Mechanical 2004 format. Close AutoCAD (the entire program) and then reopen everything.
  2. Use Save As to save the drawing in the AutoCAD format (plain format). Close and reopen everything and then try to export layout to model.
  3. Final solution is to close the program and try to open the drawing in AutoCAD (plain AutoCAD) and then try to export layout to model.

I hope this helps!
