Autopatcher XP update verification failed

I have been getting this error for weeks now when running apup.exe.

I have tried reinstalling several times to different folders (C:AutoPatcher, C:Program Files (x86)AutoPatcher, etc).

And still got the same thing.

Autopatcher XP update verification failed

Hello Arthur,

To resolve that issue, use the following procedure:

• You will need to run apup.exe using  the /log command.
• After that you will have to make a batch file with that command line.
• You will then open notepad or wordpad and then type the following line in  it: "apup.exe /log" . Do not include the quotes.
• Next  you will click file and then click on Save as.
• Navigate to the bottom of the new window where there is a selection box called save as type.
• You will have to choose all files then call the new file apup.bat.
• That is it.
• You can now run the bat file.
