Hi Experts,
I updated my OS from Windows Vista 64-bit to Windows 7 64-bit. Everything was running well without any problem. However, I received an error message with Avast! Internet Security. It is showing an application error.
Have a look at the screenshot below. I uninstalled Avast and installed it again but no result. How can I get a remedy of this issue?
Please help.

Hello Olivia,
That sounds like a compatibility issue. It seems like the Avast that you were using on windows vista cannot be used on windows 7, and therefore you will need to go to the control panel and then uninstall Avast Internet Security, and then download a version that is compatible with windows 7 and then install it.
Regards,
Nicke

Hello Olivia,
When these errors appear they may indicate that there are some deep problems with operating system in your case windows 7 or hardware. Try to apply operating system patches or with disk scan tool check disk integrity.

Hi Michael,
This problem is usually caused by one of the protective features of your system which is the Date Execution Prevention (DEP).
DEP is all about preventing some regions of your memory to be written to. To fix your problem you can either turn Data Execution Prevention off or to add your program to the exceptions list. Here is how to do it
– Go to Control panel –> System –> Advanced –> Performance settings –> Data Execution Prevention Tab –> Then choose Turn on DEP for all programs and services Except for those i choose –> Add and browse for the executable of Avast and select it.
Now reboot and your program should work with no problems.
Hope this helps.
