Avid Media Composer: No directory specified

Hi everybody!

Starting Media Composer on my desktop gives this error. I've got the right specs and I'm using Administrator privileges. I tried uninstall and reinstall too, to no success.

Help please on what do next?

That error refers to rebuilding the media database files. In each media drive there is an Avid MediaFiles folder and sometime and OMNI MediaFile folder at the root level of the drive. In each folder inside the MXF Folder under Avid MediaFile folder, delete two files that identify by type as MSM Media Database.

If you have and OMNI file folder, delete the same two files. If you've done all this, restart your computer. The system will detect the missing files and build new ones at the Initializing MediaSteams Manager Stage.

This solution will help you avoid that kind of error.
