Our company has about 10TB of hard disk space and we keep adding this per annum. We have also connected this disk to the server which is within the SAN network and are implementing several back-ups. I wanted to find out the risks of making one server own the backup of all the data in the hard disk that is connected directly to it.

You need to know the basic or usually things to do to back up files especially important files. How to back up it, where to back up, details you need on how to back up it properly. At first you use one hard disk only; a lone hard disk will sometimes fail. And if you are backing up files it is strongly recommended that it is external hard drive, Making back up that is connected directly to the files is not good. For your safety you need to use another location where you back up your file or use another computer for just a back up only separate to the computer where the original files located. So that if something wrong happen to your system your back up is safe. If your files is important you need to place it on a safe area away from destruction.
