Please suggest me a best Linux and non commercial Linux distribution for my desktop.

As, I wanted to have one Linux partition in my existing system.

Hello Arthur,

There are various Linux distributions that will be suitable to be used on your desktops.

Some of the factors you will have to base on when selecting the distribution include the following:

• Hardware compatibility
• Ease of use
• And the size of a software repository that the distribution will use.

The above attributes are differ for each Linux distribution, however each Linux distribution is free take and as well mix whatever it wants from any other. With such a situation in place, it is very easy for good ideas to quickly spread and the bad ones fail, thus making it easy for there to be dozens of distribution updates every time.

The following some Linux distributions that will be suitable for desktop use:

• Ubuntu 11.04 is very suitable for beginners.
• Fedora 15 will be suitable if you are an expert in using Linux.
