Best photo related software for begineers

Hello! I am new into photo editing and I definitely have a lot to learn. I might also say I am an aspiring graphic designer so I am looking for different software which can be used at the beginner level when one does not know much about photo editing. I tried a few like Adobe Photoshop but as a person who has no experience of working in a photo editing software before, I may say Photoshop was not the smartest option. A lot of tools in it were new for me and I absolutely had no idea where to start from. Can someone suggest a software which is not as mature as Photoshop and which is best for beginners?

Adobe PhotoShop Elements 12 is by far the best photo editing program on the market. Although it may seem a little intimidating at first, Adobe provides excellent online user support to help a beginner learn how to use the product. A second choice is ACDSEE Pro 8. ACDSEE does not offer the functionality of PhotoShop but it does have a variety of standard editing features and a reasonable price for the beginner. Unfortunately, the support is lacking but there is a community forum and knowledge base in addition to a user's guide. You also will have access to 10GB of cloud storage space for your photographs that is free once you have purchased the product. ACDSEE Pro offers a free 30 day trial that will give you a chance to try it out.
