My computer is elderly and I have been told that having Anti Adware installed on it will slow it down by at least 25%. I am thinking what is the lesser of the evils! No Anti Adware or Invasion by Adware! As I am new to computers I am at the moment being cautious about downloading things. Advice much appreciated. I am on XP Professional.
Is Bitdefender add on Mozila can delete a virus?
Hi!
Â
So based on my experience on Antivirus softwares, I thought that no Antivirus softwares can detect and delete 100% virus. I myself using two Antivirus softwares right now, but I'm not sure that my computer is 100% free of virus, malware.

Your problem is you don't want install any software but only add on for Firefox. Bitdefender add-on may be good for you, but I recommend that you should use Dr.Web Antivirus add-on along with Bitdefender. Dr.Web can check files when being downloaded (Prevention is better than cure). If possible, you should use Antivirus software to protect your computer from virus rather than using add-on.

Thanks.
Is Bitdefender add on Mozila can delete a virus?
Bitdefender add-on in Mozilla would just do a quick scan into your computer to check if it is infected, but it (add-on) does not do virus cleaning services. If a virus/malware is detected by Bitdefender, then you would have to use an Antivirus to make sure that this virus/malware is properly deleted from your computer.
Bitdefender is just for quick scanning of your computer and for providing second opinion on online activities that it is free from viruses and malwares. Thus, it is encouraged and advised to still install a Antivirus into a computer to ensure it is protected.
