Hi,
I have been able to update BitDefender from the internet but soon after the update the following error occurred.
I was using Bitdefender and working properly but now suddenly it is not working properly, asks to reboot the PC and opens up this popup at the windows login screen. I have paid for one year license code but now it is showing that not valid. I am in trouble and cannot resolve the following issue. Could you please help me to fix this issue? Any help would be grateful to you.
How do I solve it?
A problem has occurred in BitDefender Threat Scanner. A file containing error information has been created at C:WindowsTEMPBitDefender Threat Scanner.dmp. You are strongly encouraged to send the file to the developers o the application for further investigation of the error.
BitDefender fails to complete the update process
Download and run one of the patches below:
If you have a 32bit operating system, this http://www.bitdefender.com/files/KnowledgeBase/file/BDRepair_Tool_win32.exe is the tool to use.
If you have a 64bit operating system, http://www.bitdefender.com/files/KnowledgeBase/file/BDRepair_Tool_x64.exe use this one.
(You can find out if you have a 23bit or 64bit operating system, click the Start button in Windows Vista or 7, right-click Computer and click Properties. You can see the system type under System. In Windows XP, you have the 64bit version, if there is x64 Edition written under Properties, otherwise you have the 32bit version.)
After you have run the patch, restart the computer, wait for a couple of minutes and then check if Bitdefender is working normally.

It seems to me that you probably installed some malware programs by mistake (e.g. tool bar). Check from the control panel for any new installed applications in recent times and remove them if not required or you not intend to use the same. You may try to to install Malwarebytes and post installations open the system in safe mode (No network being connected) and run the program to disinfect. It could be also solved from the start up configuration provided the malware itself got added in the start up program.
