Greetings everyone!! I own a computer, the maker was ASUS. When I start it up, a black line forms a circumference round the display unit, causing complications though it doesn’t make it impossible for me to view on the screen. The visual display unit does not have a button that automatically fit-tunes it. However, I can view all the contents clearly when I connect it to high definition TV. My comprehension about all these is limited so can anyone help me?

This is likely an indication that your LCD display is failing, or a part of it has already been fried and is defective, and you need to have it replaced. Since you have tried connecting a high definition TV to your computer and it works, this means that it’s not your video card that’s causing this and this should confirm that it’s your LCD that’s not working properly. You can also try doing a display self test if your ASUS computer came with such a diagnostic tool, but I suggest you give ASUS tech support a call so that you can have the LCD display replaced.

Your display is defective as an external monitor does not have the same problem. If the same problem was present in the external monitor then the problem would have been on the video graphics adapter. Is the computer still under warranty? If it is then you need to give the computer’s manufacturer a call for warranty replacement of the defective LCD display. If it’s not anymore under warranty, then you can still give the manufacturer a call and verify the cost of the LCD replacement. If it’s acceptable, then have it replaced. Otherwise it may just be better to get a new computer.
