A storm hit our place and flood came in our house and my father was in a hurry in disconnecting all the peripherals of my computer. Unfortunately, he doesn't know how to unplug the VGA Connector of the monitor because of the lack screw. He pulled it with force and resulted to breakage of the built-in VGA/Monitor Port.
I still need to use my old motherboard but it has a broken VGA Port. Should I buy a separate Video Card, should i ask the technician to just replace the broken part or should i buy a new motherboard?
Broken Built-In VGA Port, Fix it or buy New?
Hi jaydee, if you still want to use your old motherboard you can buy a separate video card but before buying it make sure that it is compatible with your motherboard and your old board is devoid of any other damage caused due to unfortunate events. You can also claim it in warranty period but I don’t think they will replace it considering the physical damage. Also instead of going to a technician I will recommend you to go out and buy a new motherboard as it will be wise to get new thing instead of paying high cost to repairs.

Broken Built-In VGA Port, Fix it or buy New?
Hi Jaydee,
It depends with the severity of the breakage of the VGA (Video Graphics Adapter) port. If the contacts are completely broken, then you should just buy another one because fixing it might just result to other problems that will cost you even much, because you might have to still repair it in future.
I suggest that you buy a new video card and for that you can rest assured that no problems will arise as compared to repairing which I find not to be a sure a thing and which might cost you more. But if the contacts are intact and not broken, you can repair it.
Hope this helps.

Yes, you can purchase an external VGA and insert it on the USB port of your CPU if its still working. But you need to ensure that you will look for an external VGA compatible with your system. If you are unsure of what to do, better to ask a technician or an expert to look for the damage. Try to open your CPU if it will still work. If it is, then chances are the motherboard are still working fine. Below is a sample picture of an external VGA:
