I have Adobe Acrobat X Pro installed and I want to know about OCR feature. Is it possible to recognize text from scanned images, suing this feature? Also list the adobe acrobat OCR languages which can be recognized? Any kind of help would be appreciated.
Can anybody list me adobe acrobat OCR languages?
Hello Moss,
In case you have got a paper document which you need to scan or make it possible to search through it, you just use Acrobat to do that. You will just need to go to the Taskbar Create >> PDF from Scanner, and then you will select any of 3 document presets, which include Black & White Document, Grayscale Document as well as Color Document. All these Presets have got an OCR option that is ON by default, and therefore you can be able to search the scanned PDF in a single click.
In order to that indeed the OCR option has been turned ON, you will do the following:
-
Click on the Configure Presets menu option
-
And then select the appropriate preset in Preset textbox.
-
After that you will need to verify if Make Searchable (Run OCR) checkbox has been checked.
-
In case it is not checked, you will have to check it, and after that you will save the preset and then press OK to close the Configure Presets dialog.
Regards,
Carl

Hello,
Yes it is possible to recognize text from a scanned image you just have to enable OCR (Optical Character Recognition) feature.
Go to Documents, then OCR Text Recognition and select Recognize Text using OCR.
Now choose the document you want to recognize text and click on edit to choose Primary OCR Language, PDF output style and apply the settings.
OCR can also be used during a document is being scanned.
Go to Taskbar Create then click on PDF from Scanner, select any of the 3 document presets like "Black & White Document", "Grayscale Document", and "Color Document".
These 3 Presets have OCR option enabled already and so you can get a scanned copy of your document which is also recognized by PDF by just a single step!
Hope that works!!
