Can I connect an iPod to an amplifier without a docking station?

Is it possible to directly connect an iPod to an amplifier without a docking station? Also, can I use the Onkyo TX-8255 for the iPod?

Hi,
Yes it is possible for you to use your Ipod
and connect it to an amplifier. All the amplifier needs
is an audio signal, and it does the rest.
What you should not do however, is
connect your Ipod to a big speaker
directly with out passing through an amplifier.
This is due to the large resistance a big speaker
has compared to, say your ear phones. Your IpodÂ
will not get damaged but neither will you have proper
sound output. Hence the need for an amplifier to drive/handle
big speakers.
So yes, its safe for you to use your Ipod with your amplifier.
Enjoy!!!
