I am unable to install games on my Windows 8 PC. I am getting a 5001: 0x80070002 error. I ran the Windows Update troubleshooter, but the error persists. Please help.

Can I Fix The 5001: 0x80070002 Error In Windows 8?

Method 1

The 5001: 0x80070002 error can occur if the Windows Installer Service is not running properly.

a. Press Windows + R on your keyboard.
b. Type services.msc and press enter.

c. Double click on the Windows Installer Service.

d. Click on Start.
e. Apply -> OK.
f. Run the installer.

Method 2

Disable the third-party antivirus on your computer, not Windows Defender, for a while. Run the installer only if you trust it after disabling the antivirus. Enable the antivirus after the program is installed.
