I have Samsung Wave II having Bada OS installed into it. I wanted to know like what are the basic requirements of installing an Android OS into any device. Like the hardware configuration that is required? Can I install Android 4.2 into my Samsung Wave II? Will it run smooth or lag? First of all, will it install or not?
Can I install Android 4.2 in Wave II
Here is an example how you can install Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean on Samsung Wave S8500. Samsung Wave 2 is not an Android phone and runs on Bada operating system, the proprietary operating system of Samsung. Though it is not an Android device, it can be updated to Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean unofficially using CM 10.1 ROM.
Before you begin, copy any important data on an SD card because this method will delete your entire phone’s system. First, you need to download Jelly Bean 4.2.1 for Samsung Wave. After that, visit Google Apps [Gapps] and then download Cyanogen Mod 10.1 or CM 10.1. Once both files are downloaded, connect your phone to your computer using the USB cable.
After that, copy Jelly Bean 4.2.1 for Samsung Wave and CM 10.1 ZIP files to the root of your SD card. Next, disconnect your handset from your computer then turn off your phone. Press and hold Call End and Volume Up buttons to start your phone into Bootloader. After the phone has booted into Bootloader, wipe the data.
Next, go to “flash zip from SD card”, “choose zip from sdcard”, and then select the Jelly Bean 4.2.1 ZIP file. Again, go to “flash zip from SD card”, “choose zip from sdcard”, and this time select Google App ZIP file or the CM 10.1. Finally, go to ”+++++Go Back++++++” and then select Reboot System Now. You’re done. You are now running Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean on your Samsung Wave.
