Can I replace video-player on WP8?

I'm looking for a systematic substitution  for the video-player, so if I stream the video in Internet Explorer, the substitution opens up and lets me navigate a video like it was done way back in the past(times of SymbianOS).

Can someone tell me if there is a solution for this?

Is this possible to be developed for WP8?
