Hi.  Where can I download the Astrogrep freeware software? 

How do I install and would it work on a Windows XP system? 

Can I search for strings in a text file? 

Can someone teach me how to use the Astrogrep software?

Hi,

Astrogrep is an easy to use freeware tool that you can download from a number of trusted sites online.

You can run this freeware on your computer after downloading it to finish installing it. Astrogrep can work on a Windows XP system.

Can I search for strings in a text file in Astrogrep?

I’m not sure if this program is recommended for those users who want it fast when doing some file searching on the hard drive. AstroGrep is a very small tool that can do searches on your hard drive. It can search for files containing the specified keyword.

The application doesn’t include any indexing element so don’t be surprised if the search will turn out slow. But even if this is the case, it is still not a problem since it is a relatively small program around 300 KB in size which really makes it a portable one with lots of options to choose.

Below is the screenshot of AstroGrep.

Simply entering a few keywords and then clicking Search, this little tool will start scanning the specified folders in your hard drive for possible matches and showing different statistics as the search progresses. You don’t have to wait for the program to finish the search if a match was found.

You can instantly click the document and the tool will display the significant area of the file that contains the keywords. Can I search for strings in a text file in Astrogrep?

First, I wish to say to the Techyv experts thanks for your comments which were above criticism. I am a novice who is interested in every technology in the world among those Astrogrep freeware software. To get new and trustworthy information I have visited many websites but I was unable to understand because they had difficult discussion that explained nothing.

But on the contrary, I was so happy that I am in the right place because I have found my most wanted answers from Techyv experts and your provided download link as well as video tutorial helped me to know how I will use Astrogrep freeware software. I learned a lot from this site and I will use this site as my primary problem solver.
