Can I share mobile internet connection?
Yes, it is possible but your computer should be on Windows 7 to turn the machine into a Wi-Fi hotspot. To try it, click “Start”, “All Programs”, “Accessories” then right-click “Command Prompt” and select “Run as administrator” to start an elevated command prompt. In the command prompt window, type without quotes “netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=MyNetworkhere key=Password” then hit Enter.
Replace “MyNetworkhere” with the name you’d like to use for your Wi-Fi network and “Password” with the password you want. Next, type without quotes “netsh wlan start hostednetwork” then hit Enter. This initiates the virtual adapter. After this, click “Start”, “Control Panel”, “Network and Internet”, “Network and Sharing Centre”, “Change Adapter Settings” then right-click your internet connection and select “Properties”.
In the “Properties” window, go to “Sharing” tab then check “Allow other network users to connect…” and then select your virtual Wi-Fi adapter. And that’s it. Any Wi-Fi capable device will now be able to pick up your laptop as a Wi-Fi hotspot.
On the other hand, if you no longer wish to share your laptop Wi-Fi hotspot, click “Start”, “Control Panel”, “Network and Internet”, “Network and Sharing Centre”, “Change Adapter Settings” then right-click your internet connection and select “Properties”. In the “Properties” window, go to “Sharing” tab then uncheck “Allow other network users to connect…” and click “OK”.
