Can I track what actions occur on my laptop?

Hello, I have a number of roommates and I have a feeling that one of them is using my laptop because no matter how often I clear it, I always seem to find viruses. Is there a way I can legally track what actions occur on my laptop and what times? I have confronted them but no one seems to be able to give me an answer if they are using it. I appreciate any help!

Can I track what actions occur on my laptop?

You can be advised to simply install the tracking software called Prey which provides many free features and facilities as well, in tracking your laptop, regardless of the fact whether your computer uses Windows, Mac or Linux operating systems. Using this strategy, it is possible to legally track which actions has been performed with your laptop and track the time as well. 

 

Also, there are many other tracking software like LoJack for Laptops, Laptop Cop, etc. 

 

Further, you can also be recommended to try some other security features like password protecting, disabling CD or USB booting, HD encryption, using VPNs & simply locking up the laptop, etc. in order to control any unauthorized access.
