I have a Lenovo z460 with Intel Core i3-380M 2.53 GHz processor, 2 GB DDR3 RAM, 500 GB HDD, 512 MB Nvidia Geforce 310M and currently running on Windows 7 64 bit.Â
Would upgrading to Windows 8 compromise the computing speed of my Lenovo z460 i3?
Any feedback on this?Â
Thanks.
Can Lenovo z460 i3 handle Windows 8?
Hello, Bernard Katz!
From what I understood with your question, I know that you want to upgrade your operating system from Win-7 to Win-8.
Yes, you can do this without any other requirements because Lenovo z460 meets the PC configuration required to setup Windows-8.
You should not hesitate to upgrade your laptop to Windows-8.
There is no extra requirement for Windows-8 installation from Windows-7.
Hope this helps answer your question.
Have a good day.
Can Lenovo z460 i3 handle Windows 8?
Hi Bernard,
The main system requirements for you to run Windows 8 system are as follows:
Processor:Â 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster with support for PAE, NX, and SSE2
RAM:Â 1 gigabyte (GB) (32-bit) or 2 GB (64-bit)
Hard disk space:Â 16 GB (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)
Graphics card: Microsoft DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM driver
Â
Your LENOVO Z460 has:
Intel Core i3-380M 2.53 GHz processor
2 GB DDR3 RAM
500 GB HDD
512 MB Nvidia Geforce 310M
I can’t really see any reason that windows 8 won’t work with your laptop. Speed on the other hand is a different story. Your LENOVO Z460 will work fine with this system and speed would be as expected. When you load heavy software, this is when the performance will be noticeable.
