Can Not Update Google Chrome Error

I am getting error code 3: 0x80040154 — system level when trying to update Google Chrome. It says something about changing values in regedit. But I have no idea how to do that. It also wants it done by admin and I should be already set up as that. Any ideas how to fix?

Can Not Update Google Chrome Error

Hi Tyrone,

 

It is  essential that the privileges of Google Chrome are not promoted to that of an administrator for this purpose. Instead of changing the user to admin, these steps should be followed.

 

Check for a detailed explanation of Error 3.

Can Not Update Google Chrome Error

Hi Tyrone E Louis  just  uninstall Google Chrome if you already have it, and then use the following link to reinstall it? https://www.google.com/chrome/?system=true

 

This  link above will install Chrome to %Program Files% instead of %LocalAppData%, which fixes the error 3 and the 0x80040154 for many users.  if the problem still persist try using other browser such as Firefox or Opera.
